Savonia is one of the largest and most versatile Universities of Applied Sciences in Finland and educates professionals in six different fields of study and in versatile Degree Programmes.
Savonia research, development and innovation (RDI) activities offer high-quality services and tailor-made solutions to the development needs of the businesses and work communities. Co-operation, networking and internationalisation are the factors of Savonia ́s success. Transdisciplinary in Savonia is secured by organising RDI into Competence Networks, which are Applied Health & Welfare Technology, Renewed Energy & Machine Industry, and Safe Food & Water production.
The organization has a strong know-how of distance learning by offering students the opportunity to study alongside their job and learn 24/7. The innovation is a virtual Masterin Digital Health programme since 2017.Savonia has wide experience and expertise in the fields necessary for implementing the proposed project: managing international projects, experience in development co-operation, pedagogical and online learning expertise and expertise in using and developing simulation pedagogy. Savonia has one of the best simulations centres in Finland and has special expertise in simulation pedagogy. Savonia has a high-level infection control, microbiology and aseptic procedure education, and has arranged special infection control education and Clean room training.
Students of Savonia have extraordinary possibility to study Clean room work, which helpsthem to perform well in aseptic tasks and measures even in high-level microbe free industry. Savonia has excellent facilities to educate both graduate and post-graduate e.g. nurses and biomedical laboratory scientists to learn new methods of infection control in simulation centre and modern equipped laboratories. The clinical placements of the studies take place in the near University and Central Hospitals, which have high quality medical care and laboratory diagnostic.
