PrevInf Simulation Scenarios

Development of 12 real-practice context simulation scenarios that will allow nursing students to implement strategies and methodologies in a real context, in an ecological context as close as possible as they will find in the clinical setting environment.

The following simulation scenarios can be found in the developed PrevInf E-Books.

  • Use of Personal protective equipment and safe handling of clinical clothing (Droplet or contact contamination of COVID-19);
  • Prevention of peripheral intravenous line infections;
  • Individual assessment of the risk of infection during patient admission and placement/isolation Droplet precaution for SARI patient caused by Influenza.
  • Aseptic procedures performed in the operating room after gastrectomy surgery;
  • Proper Clinical Waste Management in a General Healthcare Setting;
  • Aseptic Procedure before Gastrointestinal Surgery (Appendectomy Case).
  • Medication practices in the preparation and administration of intravenous drugs;
  • Prevention of healthcare associated Pneumonia (after ischemic stroke).
  • Environmental infection control for a child with the hand foot and mouth disease;
  • Hand hygiene in performing the upper airways suctioning for patient;
  • Prevention and treatment of needle stick injury in caring patients with hepatitis B virus;
  • Prevention of respiratory tract infections associated with sputum suction in tracheostomy patients.
